Quad9 if you just want to set it and forget about it.
NextDNS is you don’t mind doing some tinkering.
In 2020 Google claimed it was supposed to be limited to a single region in partnership with a single carrier. And was never meant to be put up on Play Store.
A spokesperson from Google reached out to clarify some details about the Device Lock Controller app. To start with, Google says they launched this app in collaboration with a Kenyan carrier called Safaricom.
Google has confirmed that the Device Lock Controller app should not be listed on the Google Play Store for users in the U.S., and they will work to take down the listing.

Of course, it was a lie since it’s still on Play Store an of today and in use.
Rules in question stated as a reason for removing the comments and temporary ban:
People can make their own conclusions.
That’s what I said.
While copyright applies automatically
You can’t enforce it without it being registered. Courts will reject any claim that is filled with unregistered copyright.
In very limited circumstances. While copyright applies automatically, it has to be registered with the Copyright Office for you to be able to enforce it. I doubt Lemmy posters register each of their posts with the Copyright Office.
Nobody. It’s a public forum, anyone can take what you said and use it as their own.
From technical side, instance admins, community moderators, and you have the ability to remove them.
Well, then the answer is obvious, no? You can, but there can be some compatibility issues. And changing your operating system is not a criminal offense. As far as Google internal policies, you would have to ask them.
Chromebook’s run on ChromeOS which is Linux based…
Not to a sane person. But the majority of the western world sees calling for peace as antisemitic.
Context matters.
Most people who use “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” use it as a plea for peace - not violence. But ignorant and hateful politicians just ignore the context as it doesn’t fit their narrative.
You probably were banned due to linking the article that had the quote that called for peace in the first line.
“We won’t rest until we have justice, until all people, Israelis and Palestinians, between the river and the sea can live in peaceful liberty,” said Andy McDonald, a Labour MP, at a protest in London organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
Like I said, peace doesn’t fit most people’s narrative.
Israel has their own phrase “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty” which can have different meanings depending on the context, yet nobody has a problem with that.

It’s natural progression once initial hype wears off. As long we manage to keep core amount of users it should grow slowly over time.
Holding user data hostage is really a dick move without an option to export it.
I think it’s a distraction from the actual interactions. Same way karma is.
I’m all for supporting instances and open source developers, but any kind of reward for a donation creates wrong incentives. Donation is called a donation because it’s a gift without expecting something in return.
No audit, no 2FA, no transparency report, limited servers, proprietary clients. There are better options.
