SpaceX never said what happened to B9. It’s suspected that fuel slosh caused the failure. There are new weld lines on B10 that are believed to be from the addition of more slosh baffles.
Not just fuel slosh, but likely some form of cavitation as well. Precisely when and where the cavitation occurred could have resulted in a few different failure modes.
