Wait…
I want a news alert set up whenever porn stars get boned by rather large phalluses belonging to those with darker complexions.
If I want that, what search terms should I use?

It was but my understanding is that the patent on RDP lapsed. It’s why Oracle VirtualBox uses RDP as their virtual desktop protocol.
I think what the author meant was that it’s impossible in the capitalist marketplace.
Joe Rogan is probably a good anti-example. His podcast (as I understand it anyway) is only available on Spotify. But Conan O’Brien, the Office Ladies, and even The West Wing Weekly (which hasn’t been producing in years) is still available, for free, on any podcast platform.
Which, by itself, is fine. But their contributions to open source are very one-handed and pale in comparison to how much they benefit out of it.
Hell, my company is no different. They allocate one day out of the year as “open source day” where devs can contribute back to open source projects on company time. But it must be something we already use.
No personal development. No non-essential libraries.
We make literally millions off of these libraries and we don’t even contribute monetarily.
If these companies gave even 0.01% of their revenue to these essential libraries, they’d never even have to ask for money.
Reddit was going down hill long before the API paywall. That was certainly the final nail.
I’d say the first nail in the coffin was when they fired Victoria.
I think repos that do that just don’t know how to link discord to GitHub. They want the notifications/engagement but can’t get the two to talk.
Either that or they just don’t want people to report issues on a public board.
Either way, I feel like it’s bad all around.
That may work short term
That’s all that matters. The next quarter’s growth is more important than the year-end P/L sheets.
And it’s 2024 which means a new LTS version will drop around the April/May timeframe.
Ah…the days when perl was the removed and python was still a glimmer in the eye of some frustrated programmer.
I’m not super familiar with the situation but very familiar with how boards work.
Anyone know why the board resigned instead of pursuing legal action? Unless the gitlab instance was in the admins actual name, it belongs to the org. A restraining order removing the admin would be enough for gitlab proper to remove the guy and install someone else.
While most courts don’t know a lot about technology, board of director actions are very, very straight forward.
Damn…I’m trying to modernize my personal app’s UI and I thought react was the removed. What is the recommended framework now?
Maybe?
My understanding is that it’s supposed to replace Windows, while providing native backwards compatibility for legacy apps.
I don’t know enough about mariner to say for sure.
I was skeptical when Microsoft bought GitHub but since then, they have fully reversed course and even made a formal apology on their historical stance on Linux.
They’ve even made several additions to the kernel, mostly to support WSL but still.
The rumor is that Microsoft is working on their own distribution.
The best way to handle this is to have the next version move the old directory (if it exists) and then start reading from there.
That way it’s in compliance from then forward.
A UI notice is nice but will probably be ignored.
Privacy: I have blinds on my windows. I control whether they are open or closed, but they aren’t secure. You could break a window and look inside if you really wanted to.
Security: my glass storm door has a lock. But privacy is only there when I close the front door.
There is overlap between these two concepts but one does not imply the other.
