I made a post about my Gnome experiences already, which were just terrible due to how unstable the apps were and how it lacked a ton of even very basic features that I needed. So if their Wayland support is better, it’s completely overshadowed by how removedty everything else is.

Most of the issues were a year or two ago, but I every now and then switched to Wayland to see if things got better and returned to X within like hours due to issues just around the “desktop”.

I’m on AMD and had so many issues with Wayland. A lot of games were straight up unplayable due to the amount of issues and some other applications straight up not compatible while scaling is also still a freaking mess. Saying Wayland has been working perfectly for years just feels like clownery and is kinda insulting to everyone who experiences those problems.

Sometimes I see the rare post when I sort by Newest but it almost feels like kbin is giving 18+ submissions a low priority or something. Meanwhile when I check through my Beehaw account I see a lot of it, relatively speaking. Definitely far more than on kbin.

He’s clearly a tankie. I wonder if lemmy.zip is just as bad as lemmygrad or lemmy.ml.
I know why I went to kbin though. I just have no desire to directly support those developers.

Are domain name approvals nowadays fully automated or are there still people looking over them?

It gets better if you block Lemmy.ml. It’s really just Lemmygrad pretending to be more moderate, and failing horribly.

I for one like the added features. Collapsible comments and new comment markers especially (although not the best visual representation maybe). There’s lots of little quality of life things that are still missing. Foe example I would love to see a better handling of comment pages. Having to navigate through the pages is annoying, especially if you get a comment reply notification and it just sends you to the first page, without any indication on which page your comment and the reply is sitting at.

I don’t understand how you find kbin confusing to navigate while also browsing on Lemmy, which has such an obtuse layout. If you’ve used Reddit before, surely you should understand to navigate kbin as well?

I prefer kbin over the tankie removed.

I stopped watching them when they did their climate change video, which was such a corporate greenwashing feelgood bullremoved video that I just couldn’t justify it anymore.

I hate that I can’t block the whole instance. I mean I can but on kbin that isn’t actually doing anything. Even worse when some of the communities can’t be blocked due to an error.

I used the commands OP provided, which is also what’s been posted on the official page and it seemed to have worked without issues for me. At least in regards to me not having any graphical issues.

Nah, I can spent ages inside of it if there’s a good editor, but I will equally spent a long ass time sitting in front of the text box for the name. Especially if they require a last name as well.
