Thanks for the reply. How did you find getting on trains without a seat reservation? Did you have trains you couldn’t get on because they were full or did you pay the extra for a seat?

Brilliant news. Is there any idea how long the work will take? The article says it will start in 2025, would love to visit when it’s complete
They did a YouTube video about it with more information: https://youtube.com/watch?v=rTzj6DvqCD4

This could be interesting, wonder if the demand is there for the added capacity new operators would bring, but judging by how much more expensive it is to travel midday vs morning/evening it does looks like there is.
Would be nice to have a proper budget option like what Ouigo is, not too bothered by extra destinations, if connections are better at the existing ones.

The entire point of the “fediverse” is to combat the network effect. Don’t like Lemmy? Move to another app and still communicate with people on Lemmy. Plus it’s all open, can’t find an app you like? Build one or wait for someone to build one you like.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try
Out of curiosity, what app are you using now?

The cost is just the cost. If it doesn’t get built to Euston, the rest of HS2 is basically almost pointless
