It just says “mod” for me.
It just says “mod” for me.
I’ve used Lemmy for a while and just recently felt like I was missing a feature for the first time: I’d love if there was some kind of mod mail functionality. One of my posts was removed by a moderator and I wanted to ask why, but I obviously didn’t know which mod did it, so I just randomly messaged someone from the list. There should be a more “elegant” way to do this, like some kind of functionality that allows a user to send a message directly to the community or the moderation team itself.
One of the nice things about Lemmy is that you actually get replies under your posts/comments and it’s not just repeating phrases to earn as much karma as possible. There’s always a sweet spot of engagement in online communities and I feel like we’re pretty close to where it begins. Other sites just make you feel like you’re shouting into the void.
Your files are not lost. You will be able to access them with your local root user, either through the command line or a GUI file explorer that supports actions as root.
Isn’t "Open"AI already a for-profit company in everything except their name?
Why? Doesn’t look like there’s any explanation for this move.
According to Wikipedia, Deus Ex MD, Hitman, Life is Strange 1&2, and the new Tomb Raider trilogy all have native Linux ports.
That’s pretty cool. Square Enix is one of the better AAA-publishers when it comes to Linux support, they had native ports for Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Hitman and a bunch more.
No, but apparently this happened more than once lol
Thank you to everyone who was involved in the creation of this, it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for the next one. It’s crazy how much nicer it was compared to the one from that other site. I placed a little doodle on the first day not expecting it to survive the night because it was in the path of another large piece. But when I checked the next day, someone had actually moved it to the side. That never would’ve happened on r/place.
A moderate amount of fighting keeps it interesting IMO.
For me it was the jump between Windows 7 and Windows 8. I hated the UWP apps, the “simplified” control panel an d the full screen and tiled start menu. It worked great as a phone UI but terrible on desktop. I used it for like a month and switched to Linux Mint, which I felt was closest to W7 at the time.
The whole thing reads like the ramblings of someone with paranoid schizophrenia tbh…
