Dust? That’s never been an issue for me. I’m sure I’m above average for serum microplastic levels, but stick with pla and PETG if you have poor ventilation near the printer. I think basic 3d printing is quite safe with low levels of toxicity. Don’t put the thing in the nursery or anything. Set it up in a low traffic room with decent ventilation and set up a remote monitoring system for it as you’ll want to keep an eye on it. Make sure it’s not too far from a smoke detector and have fun.

  • Honestly you are off to a pretty good start. As everyone will tell you, you need to keep this stuff really dry. If that still doesn’t work, try different settings. If that doesn’t work, try a different brand. Unlike pla that is pretty forgiving on manufacturing tolerances, I’ve seen big differences in quality with PETG. In my hands, Id consider your kitty a perfectly acceptable print. Butane torch the hairs and you’ll have a perfectly clean model

Edit: also play with avoid crossing perimeters settings.

  • Yes please don’t do this. Google doesn’t need more support either from search activity or inclusion into the vernacular. If someone is asking in the fediverse which is still a relatively small community, they are expressing a degree of patience with their answer that suggests they’ve already tried search and came up dissapointed or they are really lacidasical about their question and won’t really mind if you just ignore it and move on. Taking the time to tell someone to websearch something is even more pathetic than a “this” reply.
