No, those were at the unpressurized section by the engines. You can see from when the plasma originally came though it was the gap for the hinge. There needs to be a gap there for them to move, so I guess the plasma found it’s way though the gap.
Looks like the ship lost roll control. It was re-entering pretty side on instead of belly first. Tim Dodd thought the hot gas thrusters may have gotten clogged with ice.

We’ve only been pumping out co2 for a hundred or two years. We can’t keep doing that and expect the old balance to hold up.

Because they’re only alive and growing till they die and rot. Sometimes trees do both at the same time, rot from the inside out. You can’t just plant trees for carbon capture, you also need to deal with how to permanently sequester the carbon.
