Thank you!
Haven’t heard of Tuta Mail, I’l be sure to look into it. Already in the process (mentally) to transition to Mullvad. The lack of port forwarding is a shame but their privacy and security is on another level.
Thank you for the recommendation!
Edit: All clients are OSS??? That’s amazing!!!
I think I love you.
Even at the cost of using a Google phone? In any case if I decide to go with it I’ll be sure to donate match the price of whichever pixel I end up with ty :)
Damn. That’s such a shame, I was considering the fairphone with /e/ os but it’s looking less and less appealing. I guess flashing it with CalyxOS and removing/replacing microg might be the better option. Either that or bite the bullet and get a pixel n’ flash GrapheneOS to it.
I deeply aplreciate your expansion on the matter :)
very very bad
Care to elaborate?
They’re the best site around for high quality/capacity drives that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Another great resource for tools n’ stuff is awesomeselfhosted

Heads up @dansup@lemmy.world the creator of these apps refuses to open source the projects stating (Loops):
Not until it’s stable
Anyone who’s followed any project of any kind knows that this is just a formal way of saying they just won’t do it.
Not only is it not truly OSS, but he’s a bit of dick. Like weirdly so. Banning people for reverse engineering the API, creating a poll on whether or not ads should be introduced (only to 180 on the matter claiming the poll was a joke but also emphasizing that the poll was in favor of ads)
On the plus side he dislikes Trump, so there’s that I guess.
In any case I highly recommend people read this comment and the sources linked:
ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Allllrighty then
What are some good examples of apks to use in regards to this use-case?
Care to elaborate? Genuinely i interested as to why that is
If you’re privacy & security centered do NOT go with Calyx. They still use several g**gle services underneath it all. Graphene is the way to go, and no they are not affiliated with Copperhead (The one who proudly states they work with Raytheon) TLDR copperhead tried to take over Graphene but failed.
Also regarding rumors of it being a FBI honeypot, the feds advertised the backdoored phone /OS as being Graphene itself - or at the very least based on it in some way. It is not.
Just remember to use a oem unlocked android device. Carrier locked phones are often times luck-based in terms of getting it OEM unlocked. Often times they are literally impossible to get unlocked. Support CAN do it and HAVE THE TOOLS to unlock it for you but more often then not… they won’t.
Don’t get me wrong, Calyx without micro g (F-Droid + Obtainium) is a fantastic option plus it’s compatible with a wide range of devices -just not as secure is all.
It’s ironic, using a g**gle phone for privacy. Different strokes for different folks.
This seems to be the main issues with his apps. Visibility is scarce beyond the original post, wherein even with followers the chances of someone seeing your post beyond that honeymoon phase dwindles.
The only exception are users with lots of followers. From what I’ve seen in my brief time using Pixelfed for example, it’s usually accounts with at least a few hundred followers that see a highet retention of visibility.
