If route all data through VPN and drop the unwanted packages in the firewall at home, you achieve this. But apple is a bitch and ignore VPN (and even DNS) for own domains.

Except, apple is bypassing VPN for their own tracking:

I nearly threw up reading first paragraph 😂
What cruelty is this, to not allow devs to use WSL?!
I got my IT department to allow me to use WSL2, because I have to clone and patch the Linux kernel for our embedded linux device.
😁now I can install stuff, for which I otherwise would have need windows admin privileges, into WSL2, like steam (just for the fun of playing a windows game over proton on a ubuntu install on WSL2 which is just linux hyper-v emulation on windows -> games run very bad and seem do not use the nvidia card in the laptop 🤭)
So my setup is for work windows running WSL if needed, at home, I have a macbookpro11,3 dual boot BigSur and up to date endeavourOS(Arch+KDE) as allrounder devices, a game PC running endeavourOS(Arch+KDE) (NVIDIA 970), a raspberry Pi W2 running my homebridge, an iPad pro for easy webapps (configure *arr services) and streaming. Other not so much PC coputing devices available are PostmarkedOS pine phone, TvOS running Atv, various game consoles with most CFW installed, and many iPhones (collected over time, self bought is only iPhone 4s, 5, 6, X and 12mini)
So, I use them all big OSs 🤔 well, not really android anywhere… 😁 I just recognised that my router is BSD based (OpnSense)
Realtek work great since 6.2
Benefit of the Doubt…
😂I upgraded from, I think 6 year old iPhone X, to an refurbished iPhone 12 mini
(Love how it is a fast phone which can be used singlehanded)
Will use it, hopefully until we have a viable Linux alternative 😂 one can dream
Yea, I want a small linux PC with touch screen, and mobile Internet 🙃 sadly, there seem none to be around with enough battery and enough computing power and a good USB C with working PD and OTG (ideally a alt mode video protocol like hdmi/DP/thunderbolt as well)
One may dream 😂😅
Is webDAV not good enough for that? I use keepass via webDAV feature of the nextcloud (I know some think it is bloated) but I guess there are other lightweight webDAV solutions…
Just do not give them sudo… Pretty hard to break Linux without sudo.
That is, because we are in transition phase, the goal is that passkey replace the less secure method, else you gain only a very little more security than only Password .
😂i need to fix element (matrix client) with that 🥳 finally got the cause of the issue
Thank you very much!
How could that be fixed by the devs? Is it something electron has to update or all electron apps individually, in order for it to work out of box?
So microsoft does not require that you backup your passkeys? I thought that was the norm in all OS 😅
I think that passkeys are backed up in cloud by default isn’t that bad for the average person, since they are likely not understanding passkeys (at least right now) and don’t get that they loose access to accounts, if they disable oldscool Passwords only use one passkey on one device for that account.
Well, they made it very secure with the transfer of passwords /s
It felt so strange having a CSV file with all my passwords and 2FA secrets in plain text in my downloads folder…
Imagine if would not have used a encrypted partition, my passwords may still be on that disk…
Well, nothing is stopping you to keep passkeys only in one place, why force others to do what you like? Now we have options and less friction to switch to a competitor. Which results in more competition and that results in better products. Well theoretically…
I think since version 550 of the proprietary driver, it is mostly possible, if your card is compatible (meaning not legacy), but yea, I as well have to switch ch to X.org for some things. (Proton Cyberpunk, for example)
For legacy cards, the open source driver are most of the time best bet, if you are not running a legacy kernel since nvidia does not update those anymore (there are community patches of legacy proprietary driver to make them work on newer kernel, but they often have less features than using the card with nouveau)
Yes!
