Sounds like a pihole on your network would solve all of your issues.
Clearly, for you, it’s a bitter pill. I get it.
No, he’s 100% correct
I can have windows up in 15 minutes
This should really be a top level comment. This actually solves a lot of my issues with Linux.
I remember complaining that Linux apps were not self-contained like Windows apps are. And I got the standard speech about losing space with libraries blah blah blah and my reaction is I don’t removeding care.
In my opinion, Linux dependency setup is hilariously broken. I understand that for the most part it works, but when it doesn’t the results are disastrous generally.
Also I agree. Nautilus is hot removeding garbage.
It’s fun until you run into issues. Be careful of updates. Randomly it will removed itself for no reason at all and require a from scratch reinstall.
It’s good that you’re having fun. Learn all you can. It’s good knowledge to have.
Windows 12 is not going to a subscription model, stop repeating this obvious bullremoved. The original article was debunked yet dumbasses keep spouting it.
Oof this is only thing if you have the os on an HDD. I’ve had similar behavior on *buntu running off of an HDD.
On an sdd or nvme you’ll never have stuff like this happen.
There is an argument to be made for it being better ux to not have programs update without telling you. Winget isn’t perfect, but it can auto update your stuff if need be.
On the bright side it only very rarely destroys itself when updating. However, some very loud foss distributions do it fairly often.
Also you don’t have to have a pi to run a pi hole. You can run it in windows using WSL. Just search Google for pi hole WSL. All you do is run the power shell script and it does practically everything for you
