While I believe you, I haven’t been able to enable hibernation with it on.
You have to turn off Secure Boot to enable hibernation, and I value hibernation enough to do so.

You typically image directly onto the SD card for a Raspberry Pi, not off a bootable drive.
The machines haven’t worked for me, so I just started opting out immediately as well, since that ends up being much faster. I don’t understand the point of this.
