I think the model Y did as well.
I think the model Y did as well.
Ah, got it. Could also be my migraine making me not fully get things.
I’m all for mass transit, but there are some jobs that require cars. My partner does home health, for example. She often has to take a lot of bulky durable medical equipment (DME) to a person’s home. Even if mass transit existed in all of her territory, transporting DME on it would be prohibative, especially when there are often multiple people that need different pieces of equipment.
Ah, exactly what we need. An inaccurate search engine to replace the dominant inaccurate search engine.
Do you live outside the US? The way the US works is far less centralized than other countries. Most of this time this kind of stuff is left up to state regulations or even city regulations and contracts. The truth is that capless plans exist, but that is not the reality for large swaths of the US. You’re taking a broad approach to a specific problem. Ending data caps ends at the Federal level ends the problem and does away with the mess of state BS. Anyway, I am done talking to a brick wall. Have a good one
You act like I work at the FCC. The reality is the city has tried focusing on that in the past and failed because the contracts set up with the ISPs were renewed by the centrist city government. I think you are thinking of an ideal situation where one does not exist.
WHAT CHOICE!? Data caps are on all plans. What options are there? Lay out what you think the choices are.
Around here they charge for going over your cap, so easy profit with no regulation would be the likely culprit. Also, you keep talking about competition, but there are 2 whole broadband companies in my area, and one does not have fiber/gigabit in my area. That is not what anybody would call healthy competition.
Consumers can pick a subscription with a data cap, or they can pick one without.
I am in a major metropolitan area and I do not have an option to have no data caps. Even the slow internet plans have them. I don’t think you realize the stranglehold telecoms have on consumers.
Twitter has DMs, plus it helps by not allowing that person to reply unless they create a new account.
Huh, I have noticed that. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it. I 100% agree any slowness is outweighed by ad blockers though.
Good news, there is cross device syncing. You just have to make a Firefox account. That might be a no go for some folks, but it is an option. If Firefox on mobile is slower, I have not noticed the difference. Have they just refused to try it?
Not really a good comparison. The steam engine was an extant technology at that point. AGI is not, and we really no idea if/when it will be. One thing is clear though, it is not as close on the horizon as tech bros want us to think it is.
Of course it does. Where did I ever imply it didn’t? But just because the dems suck, doesn’t mean the GOP isn’t far worse, especially the Trump flavor. There are states I can be legally sterilized because I have an X as my gender marker on my ID. That’s the kind of removed the trumpers want to do federally. At least with Harris there is a chance for the people to pressure her to do the right thing. With trump that is impossible
If you don’t think those things will get substantially worse, and substantially faster under Trump, the you have played yourself
OK, I’ll bite.
Trump will be worse for marginalized people, trans folks in particular. Harris has a history of supporting LGBTQIA+ rights.
Trump will be worse for Palestine (and has said as much). Harris has at least entertained a cease fire.
Trump, despite the lies that he utters, will make every move to implement Project 2025, which will destroy any semblance of democracy. Harris won’t do that.
I am so sick of the bosthsideism bullremoved. Just because they are both bad, does not mean one isn’t dramatically worse. This election is going to be close, and as removedty as it is, the US is a 2 party system. Third parties do not have a chance with the current electoral system.
If you want that to change, you have start local and work up the chain. Not voting or voting third party is pointless until there is a change in system, and that starts locally.
How long before that happened? I’ve been running it for several months and have had no issues
Very. I have had to use the terminal for a couple things (VPN and some Switch modding), but 99% of the time it is unnecessary.
Mint has not worked well with my Nvidia card either. Pop_OS is doing great, though. They have an Nvidia specific install with some optimization for Nvidia cards.
We had a Tesla (Model S we bought used for cheap) before Elon went off the rails, and can confirm every bit of that info. Service was a nightmare. My partner had to tell the technician about an active seatbelt recall at one point. We once got an overdue parking ticket in the mail because the shop would just park on the street and not pay. Honestly other than that, the car was fantastic, but little did we know we just won the Tesla lottery and did not get a car with massive problems. After Elon started Elonning, my partner got sideswiped and that totaled the car. Miss the car, but do not miss explaining that we did not agree with anything Elon was doing or saying.
