True they give it to “recyclers” who try to sell what they can and throw the rest. I know this because I used to work for the “recyclers”

Lol People are removeding idiots and these are the same people who complain about how everything is getting expensive when corporations are posting massive profits.
Facebook is a data harvesting company. Yes, it can scrape the data but why hand it to them on a silver platter? Let them scrape it, if they want it so bad. The issue is facebook has destroyed democracies , bought out competition and never had a good track record so why risk it. If we federate, it’ll be like smoking cigarettes even though we know smoking causes cancer.
Famous people need regulars to follow them. Get more people like you and me and celebrities will follow.

I think the issue here is users data will be on threads server which god knows how it will be used. To train AI? To target ads ? Nobody knows so better everyone block threads and keep internet safe as these companies have destroyed internet.
May be the whole plan is to kill ActivityPub or they want all the data to train AI or target ads.
