your app/device can see that it was crossposted and show you only one in your feed rather than 3,5, 10 duplicate posts
How many apps support this though? My preferred one certainly doesn’t.
It’s not loading for me atm. Is it federated?
That being said Lemmy has probably less than 1% of society. And Cleveland has a finite number of potential users.
Probably
Pretty much the same concept, but on an individual basis. So, lets say I subscribe to videogames@instance and I also subscribe to gamers@instance. Those communities have NOT grouped for whatever reason, so YOU group them for yourself.
So now when you post, you’ll post once, and it will post your new post once in videogames@instance and once in gamers@instance.
I see where you’re coming from, but the problem is instances and communities (not “sublemmies”) have different moderation styles and focuses, and this would just muddy things up unless it’s very specific and deliberate.
I see, well hopefully next time you won’t let them get to you.
so I got demoralized and deleted it.
So you let them win, nice.
Restore it I’ll give it an upvote.
Oh good! Glad I could help.
Thank you everyone for your helpful responses. Unfortunately I can only see the responses left on my post, not replys to top level responses.
Check your account language settings. Make sure undetermined and English are both selected.
I made the comment that the theif looks like a guy who stole MY bike in the early 90s, and that maybe this was his son. Keeping it in the family business.
That’s hilarious. They don’t deserve you.
Welcome back! Hope you like what we’ve done with the place.
Have you heard of ReVanced? Most commonly known for patching youtube to allow more features, mainly adblocking. Well they have patches for a ton of apps now so if you have a reddit account and say you’re a developer you get your own API key they can be injected into some apps. It didn’t work for me for a while but I eventually got it to work for the random search result from reddit.
The cracked apps using personal API keys stopped working a few days ago. Already fixed now I think.
Be the change
More things with Lemmy compatibility can only be a good thing.
As a federated service deletions can take time to federate out to other instances. It’s also good practice to first edit the post/comment away before deletion.
It’s not so cut and dry with Lemmy either. Admins can still view it (though not as easily).
Lemmy is not a monolith. Sign up somewhere else or make your own communities.
But you jumping to “comments are terrorism now” leads me to believe your experiences may not be so one sided.
I adore the gear reveal
and I’ve been arguing with people that take any slight ambiguity from me as ammo to attack me with,
I’m sorry if I made you feel that way. For the future anything hosted at join-lemmy.org would be part of the Lemmy software itself.
Squabbles, later Squabblr, is also an* interesting casestudy in failure.
