So just block them.
Join literally any other server.
That’s the point of distributed networks they’re supposed to be distributed if 80% of the content is on two servers that’s not distributed. People should move off ml and world regardless of their politics simply because it’s not a good idea to have everything all in one place.
Surely the problem is that people are bringing politics into forums which clearly don’t require it. Like, why would the political stance of someone matter in a technology forum?

How? Nobody is going to switch platforms, so The only uses that they will have will be the users they bring and some users will switch away from meta to a more free alternative I can only see the numbers of users going up.
I see no point in preemptive action. I mean at least wait until they go live. I want to see if they actually are a problem you never know it might just bring some interesting new content.
I can only assume that people who have a problem with defederating from Meta are either Meta trolls or lack the cognitive abilities to participate
Anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot and I can be rude to them and ignore them
The isn’t a linked article the guy is just an idiot.
What do you want a different instance so will this instance does has no effect on you
Meta have yet to prove they can actually implement it though. I feel like we’re worried about a theoretical, rather than an inevitability.
How am I supposed to get emotionally attached to someone when I’m having a borderline one-sided conversation. The People you meet on those apps are not interested in carrying the conversation and it’s just mentally exhausting.
They don’t provide any kind of hook that I can respond to.
