Is genocide denial not racism?
Defederating sends a message that the world doesn’t like tankie bullremoved
Exactly. Why are we federated with people who deny genocides? removed all of that
I’m all for defederating from tankie instances. They suck.
I love how delusional people here are.
Joking lol but serious that it will never happen. Windows has waaay too much of a monopoly for that to never happen.
Like wtf, am I supposed to tell my mom to use the terminal to download ms word? Oh wait sorry you can use libre office! It’s the same but… Well it looks different. And isn’t as functional.
Ah ok. This is a very sensible change. I never post, but I interact probably once a month or so.
It absolutely did. Instances should have acted on that day 1.
I recommend becoming friends with the furries and anarchists on mastodon. They are all pretty cool
Total number of posts isn’t really a helpful data point I think. Like yeah of course it will go up, but is the rate increasing or decreasing? That’s the more interesting number.
I am all for a temporary defederation.
.world has power. It has the people and the content. Flexing a little in support of human rights is 100% a good thing.
Power to you. I feel like whenever I say anything trying to inject some form of “genocide is bad” into one of their conversations, I get about 20 comments telling me I’m a removedty person for saying that. Or like, a copy and pasted book that they want me to read and then I’ll understand why genocide is “justified.”
It’s removeded.
So yeah, thanks for your effort, you aren’t alone 😅
People who support fascist governments - specifically, Russia, China, North korea.
They will also rightly say things about how America does bad things too. And that is true. It’s ok to admit that.
They, on the other hand, will never admit that Russia or China is ever doing something unethical or wrong.
I’ve been using Lemmy since June, and… I’m really curious. Has there been any developments since then, in terms of actual platform features? (Not saying anything about the .world server devs, they are fantastic)
Correct. If year over year change is negative though, then that might be an issue.
They are allowed to exist, but they don’t need to advertise for them.
Especially in the place where casual people go to sign up. Can you imagine someone picking a random server and then suddenly seeing that removed? They would stop using lemmy completely.
If I have mastodon, how and when can I follow Blue sky users? I read something about an adapter server or something, but I don’t know what that means in a practical sense.
