This is twitter advice, but I assume it works.

I had about 10k followers and about 100 likes per tweet in my heyday - but had pretty much left about a year before elon took over, and fully left when he did.

It was a lot of work with little reward, but it was fun.

• Post actually engaging content for your niche on a regular schedule, preferably more often than twice a day
• you can maybe stretch to two niches on an account but likely you just want one
• engage primarily with people in that niche
• get to know them, build an online friendship
• get into group dms or chats with multiple people in the same niche
• nepotistically retweet each others stuff, publically respond favorably to it
• unless you have a really interesting life, keep your real life out of it and focus on your niche
• expect this process to be a committed 12 month process - so that’s at least 1000 posts, all should be high quality enough to warrant engagement.

I would also add that you need to explain out-of-home steps, too.

I’m not an idiot but I didn’t go to school for compsci or similar and I don’t do it as a job. So frequently the instructions will go

• Get your IP address by entering this command
• Type your IP address in this line
• Now forward any chosen port to your proxy of choice and don’t forget to check your firewall settings!

because I googled what distro to use and ubuntu was the one I picked randomly and I can’t be removeded to change it

It also doesn’t help that doing anything in Linux requires weird little guys like “mv” or “mkdir” or “chmod 777”

Good point. All GUIs and CLIs (usually, for consumers/slightly above average users) are complimentary rather than exclusive, worth mentioning I guess that you can use both on pretty much any system (although I pretty much only ever use caffeinate -d on Mac)

I dont know OPs history. I grew up trying to play Theme Park from the command line in DOS without knowing what “IRQ” meant before google even existed to look it up.

If you’ve only ever used GUIs, even knowing

 ls 

might be very alien.

you’ve got a lot of answers, but as someone who started playing around with Linux recently I would say it’s probably better to start familiarizing yourself with some command line operations in windows now.

Do some things like, use the terminal to search for and open programs you need, delete files, even write some basic text documents.

yes, you’ll have to do some googling to work out how to do these things (and why it didn’t work) - and now you’re on the path to linux!

Maybe you’ll even find a way to install a command line browser to look up the answers.

Commenter was suggesting there should be no limits on any speech, hence me giving an example of absolute free speech being an obvious thing no-one wants — so that we can agree there must be some limit on speech.
