My doctor diagnosed me with “Epiploic Appendagitis”, incredibly painful, but not dangerous. Said “It’s like appendicitis, but on the other side.”
“So… ‘Table-of-Contents-itis.’”

Sorry, I was peer pressured by my wife and didn’t realize… :)
Sounds like Patreon with extra steps…
I hit them up in our internal chat! Thanks for the heads up!
Our son would rather gnaw off his own arm than come back home…
Searching the Apple app store for “lemmy” only turned up these.
Given the performance, that does not surprise me!
App does say it was last updated 7 months ago, but I see comments saying it’s abandoned.
Weird, I use Boost all the time. Did you turn on 2FA or something? Maybe try removing and re-adding your account?
Noted! I wasn’t really testing configurations, just “out of the box” functionality.
@gedaliyah@lemmy.world iOS testing, not sure how you score these so I just listed out the broken stuff.
Arctic - Link opens in App. Headings fail, images fail, everything else looks fine.
Avelon - Link opens in browser, not app. Manually went to test post. Bold+Italic fails (Italic works, not Bold). Table fails. Horizontal Rule fails. Spoiler fails. Everything else looks good.
Bean - Last updated 7 months ago, comments on the app say it’s abandoned. Link opens in browser, not app. Manually went to test post. Text formatting block fails so hard, it’s not even visible(!) Heading fails. Code Block fails, Inline Code fails. Links and Image work, but not inline, only at the bottom of the post. Table fails. Horizontal rule fails.
CheeseBot - Did not test. $2.99, no free version.
Lemmios - Link opens in app. Everything looks and works great EXCEPT Spoilers.
Mlem - Link opens in browser, not app. Manually went to test post. As with Lemmios, everything looks and works great EXCEPT spoilers.
Remmel - Instant fail. No development in 2 years, unable to even add an instance or an account. Non-starter.
Thunder - Hard to test. Lots of lag for some reason. Link opens in browser, not app. Manually went to test post. That being said, EVERYTHING worked. The lag may have been because I had just linked my account. Testing everything above, then coming back to Thunder, I found it fast and responsive.
Voyager - Link opens in app. EVERYTHING worked. No notes.
So, ranking them:
Voyager - EVERYTHING worked. No notes.
Thunder - Everything worked, but laggy to start with when using a year old account with lots of data. Once it caught up, everything was fine. Would probably be great with a new account.
Lemmios - Link opens in app by default. Spoilers don’t work.
Mlem - Link opens in browser by default but is user configurable. Spoilers don’t work.
Arctic - A few minor failures.
Avelon - A few more failures than Arctic.
Bean - Hey, it works better than Remmel. Probably abandoned.
Remmel - Instant fail.
CheeseBot - Did not test. $2.99, no free version.
On it. I found 8 apps in the App store. I’ll PM you.
Arctic, Avelon, Bean, Lemmios, Mlem, Remmel, Thunder, Voyager.
There’s a 9th, CheeseBot, but it’s $2.99 and all the others are free.
I have an iOS device and am happy to repeat your methodology! Did you have a test thread or something with all the markdowns?
General consensus seems to be that, yes, .ml is problematic, but also it’s not going anywhere due to being the OG lemmy. Too many vital communities are there.
I’ll share this with the lemmy.world admins, but I believe hexbear at a minimum is already defederated. .ml is not. Not sure on lemmygrad.
I heard about a horrible river dragon that lurked in the waters under the old London Bridge and destroyed passing boats, eating the crews and passengers.
It started with a small punt and two people out fishing, pushing the punt through the river by use of a long pole. The pole had tapped the dragon on the nose, waking it from it’s slumber, where it emerged from the river and dragged the helpless fishermen to their doom.
Following that, it’s hunger was insatiable, it attacked a cattle boat, not only killing and devouring the entire crew, but every last bull, cow, and calf sailing on the river.
Finally, a group of brave knights lured it up onto the banks and, with great loss of life, managed to slay the horrible beast. While After the conquest, Sir Newt suggested that they grind up the foul beast and use it for food in the local orphanage to cut down on the wasteful cost of gruel. Thus Dicken’s opening line…“It was the beast of Thames, it was the wurst of Thames.”
A German farmer with relatives in the US sent them a package consisting of some sausages made from the dragon. When they complained that the package had not yet arrived, he wrote: “Cheer up. The wurst is yet to come.”
Symlinks. It doesn’t matter which partition they’re on.

It took reddit a long time to come up with “Multis” where you put whatever themed channels under one group.
I don’t see why it couldn’t be done here.
I do kind of miss the private clubs. I had worked my way up through 100K, 150K, 200K and 300K karma clubs before I bailed and came here.
Centennial Club was just the best. It was like Century Club, but way nicer!
Orff course not…
