Fusion works with WINE
As an engineer, I’ve tried FreeCAD and it’s awful. Just get a hobbyist license for Fusion360 and run it in WINE
Don’t forget some of the Linux prebuilt manufacturers
I do the same with Pop! OS. Does anyone know when KDE 6 will roll out there?
Except it’s still not available on mobile
If you’ve used any mainstream CAD software like Inventor, NX, or Solidworks then FreeCAD is extremely clunky in comparison.
Well that’s wonderful news!
Honestly? Not much. FreeCAD is an abomination, so I’m keeping one of my computers on Windows so that I can still use Fusion360
I think you’re underestimating how valuable tab groups are to people. I would make a full switch if Firefox could offer that feature on mobile in any reasonable way. Since it’s already a desktop extension, I’m just waiting for them to be made available on Android
Plus it’s actually 3% market share now
Isn’t India developing their own Linux-based OS for all of their government’s computers to use?
Same here. Switched my laptop to Pop!OS + KDE and planning on doing the same with the desktop soon-ish
Is this some r/antiwork insanity?
To a point. Let’s be honest it’s going to be more like an S-curve since you can’t go past 100% market share, and some people will refuse to switch.
And people not wanting to switch is fine imo. Having competition will likely help all OS’s get better over time
At lot of old laptops (including mine) have separate mouse buttons and tap-to-click. It was nice being able to use the separate mouse buttons when you didn’t want to risk jiggling the cursor while clicking. Unfortunately nowadays all touchpads have the buttons integrated with the touchpad.
That means there is a higher risk of a bug slipping through to the users who choose to continue using single click.
The same can be said about double-clicking with the old defaults. Which is arguably worse since said bugs will affect more people
On the bright side, in the US patents expire after 16 years without an extension, and no patent can last past 20
Maybe “plateau’d” is a better phrase. There has been growth since the Reddit migration, but it has decreased since the spike. Not that that’s a bad thing
Holy removed, it is. I’m really hoping that includes mobile, since it’s the only thing keeping me using a Chromium browser
