  • There’s this wild, outlandish idea that kids don’t have the maturity, experience, or impulse control to make informed and rational decisions all the time. Thus we don’t give kids the exact same rights and responsibilities we give to adults – they gradually gain them as they mature and demonstrate they can handle them.

How would you like this installed in your workplace?

Yes, because my workplace staffed entirely by people 21+ is the same thing as a school filled with literal children. Also, for some unknowable reason we don’t have issues with people vaping in the building despite having people that smoke and vape. Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the fact none of us are teenagers.

    What if [slippery slope]?

You do know that’s a fallacy, right?

    Here’s 3.

    • Addressing men’s mental health. Normalizing therapy and talking about issues.
    • Promoting ideals and examples of healthy intimate relationships: communication, setting boundaries, etc.
    • Moving a way from the insecure, performative, removeded up version of “masculinity” – e.g. “I can’t wear pink, play with dolls with my kid, or bake because those things are feminine”.

I have a question for the group. I do run Linux on a ThinkPad, but it’s Mint/KDE on an X1 carbon I bought new.

My question is: what’s the dress code here? Do I actually need to buy programming socks and a skirt? Can I get away with just wearing ribbed, white athletic socks and cargo shorts? Business casual?
