I just switched to Linux for the first time last year, and I’ve been using EndeavourOS, which I’ve been told is like Arch with training wheels, and my experience has been fantastic. In case anyone wants a slightly easier way to peek at Arch.
I think some of us here might just have a different definition of “success” when it comes to content on the internet. Personally, I don’t agree that,
mass numbers of people means success
If not Threads, what would you suggest to bring the billions of people who are stuck in legacy social media into the Fediverse?
Why do we need to bring billions of people here again?
Why would use geforce/Nvidia with a laptop that’s built for linux?
Hey thanks for the link. $1 and free shipping for 10 Linux stickers. Hard to beat that.
Man, I wouldn’t let a Windows install within 30 feet of that thing if it were me.
And so was the Beer Hall Putsch. How did that turn out in the log run?
Yeah let’s call it what it is, a straight up coup attempt.
I read it as saying that, despite having ideals on two opposite ends of the spectrum, they’ve found “common ground” of sorts, in a community full of people who can’t handle living in irl “mixed society.”
In other words, they’re the only people willing to put up with similar behavior to their own I guess? This is all speculation, I haven’t seen what those instances look like these days and don’t really have any interest.
Nobody wants you here.
Are you for real? You do realize that “mixed society” is referring to actual real life, right?
The fact that this is possible tells me that functionality will be phased out. No shot Meta would leave all that theoretical cash on the table.
Glad to hear it. Spread the word, it’s a great term imo, and something more people need to be aware of.
I just like pointing out that it’s nothing new.
It may not be a flashy term, but it has a lot of historical context and it’s basically a defining feature of modern capitalism at this point.
Rent seeking. It’s called rent seeking, and there is nothing new about it.
Not only that, but they’re acting like they’re the first to figure this removed out.
This is just rent-seeking. It’s as old as capitalism itself. No need for dumb new terms.
But also, people who don’t change their opinion when they learn new information (at least when it’s something I agree with), that’s a red flag too.
Really, the only way to not get a red flag here is to already go into things believing the exact same thing I do, and refusing to ever change that when faced with new data.
Lol no it’s not. Refusing to be honest with yourself and admitting that you were wrong about something after learning more about the thing, is a giant red flag.
There are also (somewhat hidden) “hard modes” where the only indicator that you’re in a different mode is that the badge number next to the uBlock icon changes color.
You can have it block all third party scripts by default for every website, or even go all out and basically use it like noscript. Pretty much breaks every individual website though but you can choose individually what to let through and save it based on domain (I believe) so you really only need to do it once.
