I think potential is underplaying its current state. I feel it’s already on par if not better than Reddit, the apps are better, the experience is better, no ads, the people are generally nicer, discussion is better, no removed comment metas, etc. Haven’t felt a need to go back to Reddit once since leaving.
I’ve had success describing it as “imagine you owned the server your Facebook info was stored on but could still interact with all other Facebook servers”. It’s a little simplified, but it usually gets the point across.
Yeah that episode of the fresh prince is absolutely heartbreaking. Filled with tons of emotion for a usually funny show made it that more impactful
So how do you even break into this field if there’s so few actual beginner jobs?
This is awesome, not really 100% sure, but if they’re following the fault lines of the plates that’s so removeding cool.
Same. Kinda sad that the Memmy development slowed down so much that now it’s kinda behind the pack. Switched over to voyager and it’s real good 👍
People are still nice tho, and food is still real good. I believe the city itself is really safe(?) not entirely sure.
I think out of all the options from the bottom category Hong Kong would be the nicest
I mean that’s always an option for everything. Is it really going to happen? Probably not
I don’t think you realize how much this person is asking. This isn’t a one person job, this is a job for hundreds of people working full time. They would need to be corporate to be able to afford this.
So you want to make lemmy, but corporate and with algorithms? That’s just Reddit dude (excluding the decentralization).
Yeah this is kind of where I was coming from with my question
