Just here to express my condolences
Sure, not trying to second guess you. What do you think of them so far? Is it worth the effort to learn them?
Is it on the horizon for cron to be deprecated?
Maybe he did, and took a picture later.
Not making the switch dependent on hardware upgrades would be a requisite for me. Maaany people (and things like expensive, tightly integrated industrial systems) can’t just switch to a machine that supports Win11. Also, Microsoft promised Win10 would be their last windows version, receiving continual upgrades. So I repeat: Get removeded, Microsoft
So just a minute ago I thought “Get removeded, HP” and now I’m thinking “Get removeded, Microsoft”. What a day.
I keep being surprised by how much the thought of wsl disgusts me
Did you set up a swap partition?
Ooh, thanks for pointing that out! I haven’t used it, but now I will start installing it for every colleague’s Linux user when I get the chance, just to mess with them. Might even change their bash’s prompt to the DOS one.
(These edge installs of mine will probably account for half of all edge on Linux installs ever, btw)
What about those apps using out of date libraries? Wouldn’t that become a security issue - since containers usually aren’t that secure, right? And all app developers would have to update their container libraries separately, instead of just updating the system libraries?
