I thought the second to last episode was the ending and was happy. Then saw there was one more and wondered if they could top it.
Nope.

I think the biggest problem is that ai for now is not an exact tool that gets everything right.
The biggest problem is that it isn’t an exact tool, but is being presented as if it was and implemented as a replacement for people instead of a tool they can use to make themselves more efficient.
Whereas the “real” hover board that exists has wheels.
Hovercraft have existed for decades and actually hover which makes everyone just accepting Hoverboards as wheeled infuriating.
In my experience it’s not going through the motions while everything works or using the system itself, it’s the first time you try to go off the guardrails or you encounter a technical issue.
This is also true for Windows though.
As long as I can read from the second nvme drive I have enough total space to easily shuffle around.
My issue was that I couldn’t fit everything onto just the SSDs at the same time.
I have windows PC with 6 drives, mostly SSD and on HDD that I assume are all NTFS. Two of the drives are nvme(?) attached to the mobo, and I only have one mobo with nvme slots. I have a number of older boards that top out at SATA connections.
If I install Linux Mint, can I format one nvme drive with whatever the current preferred linux formatting is, install Mint, and move the files from the other drives around as I format each one?
Or do I need to move all the data I want to keep to SATA drives, put them in a different windows box, and then copy them over using a network connection?
It’s been a while and I’m guessing my lack of finding an answer means linux still doesn’t work with NTFS enough to do what I’m thinking of.
I assume my not noticing any meta shills is due to them being downvoted to hell. If so, excellent work everyone on keeping their propaganda in check!
For anybody looking to avoid ads on Lemmy, it seems like direct federation with Threads is not a good idea currently.
It will never be a good idea to federated with threads. There will always be some kind of malicious behavior from threads that makes federating with threads a terrible idea.
The constant nagging about donations is another. My doctor’s office is in a health care organization that wants a survey after every single visit is another. Just constant nagging everything I spend money, and I know they don’t actually use the feedback for anything except punishing employees. There is no point to give feedback when it won’t be used to actually improve anything.
Now there is one organization I work with that does have 3rd party surveys that I know for a fact actually uses the feedback correctly. I jump at the chance to do those, and give it honestly and with comments!
I already give feedback here through upvotes and downvotes and user comments. Something about the UI might be something I would give feedback on, but things like moderation I would assume will either be ignored if it doesn’t reinforce existing practices or used negatively based on past experience.
Getting quizzed about unimportant stuff is the most annoying trend. Anything like that needs an “I don’t want to give feedback” option at a minimum and an easy way to opt out of future feedback requests.
Yes I see the cancel button, but it isn’t the same as “I don’t want to give feedback” or “This is not important enough for me to care”.
How would someone migrate from a dead instance?
There would definitely need to be a way to handle people switching instances, so that it doesn’t encourage sticking to an instance that goes downhill or if an instance goes belly up. The former has a chance to transfer their identity, the latter wouldn’t.
