I want to get started 3d printing, partially because I bought a house and farm and need to replace some little bits and bobs that don’t necessarily need to be super strong. It just seems a bit too much to try to figure out right now.

I moved from social to run a few months ago after being fed up. I like it.
Previously, I coded something in Rust real quick to spit out and manipulate some JSON, but it looks like the jq/yq below would work fine.
That’s crazy. I don’t raise chickens right now, but I do follow a lot of farm/homestead content with people who do raise poultry for meat. I had considered raising my own egg-layers (just a couple) since I have plenty of space for them to run around and delicious bugs to eat. I have no idea what breeds we have here in Japan, though, for any use case.
Are these the same breed of chicken? For example, Cornish Cross or American Breast or something? If not, it does feel kinda weird comparing them. If they are all the same base breed, that’s some totally crazy selection going on there.
For clarity/example, comparing a Cornish Cross from 1970 against one from 2000 is different than comparing a Cornish Cross from 1970 against an American Breast in 2000. I just wanted to clarify what was being compared.
We are polar opposites; I almost never want something not in fullscreen, hah. I’ve been using a mac for work for a bit over a year now and hate it.
Does Gentoo still have a “download the minimum thing and compile everything from the ground up” type of thing? That taught me a TON back in the day. I had used old late-90s Linux distros and could do some basic things, but that really made the difference for me. I always think it might be worth doing for someone with a bit of time on a second machine (or maybe even vm)
Correct. Thank you!
Yeah, my very first request was a 429 so the back-off seemed really weird, heh. Thanks!
Yeah, something’s misconfigured, underpowered, or something.
Much appreciated. This seems to be working for now, but I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
I actually started on Lemmy and it auto-refreshed and did some other things I found so annoying I was gone in about half a day.
I created an acount on kbin.run (which is mbin) earlier today. I tried on the most populous mbin instance, but the request page throws 429s and the contact page 500s. This morning, I was ready just to go back to reddit for a bit (I didn’t care for Lemmy, but I guess I would give it another shot before that).
I always said “in GIN icks” (gin like the alcohol) based on someone else’s pronunciation years ago. I never realized it was meant to have anything to do with “engine” as a result.
