      I wouldn’t call 100+ km no height

Edit: looks like it got to about 150km in altitude and about 25k km/h

It also exploded after lifting the second stage to its desired speed, plus performed a hot stage, plus reoriented for the back boost burn and re-ignited before it blew up. This was a phenomenally successful flight for the first stage.

Not sure where you got that impression from. The booster apparently worked flawlessly during ascent, with all 33 engines working until stage separation. Only 30s into the boostback burn, the AFTS triggered after several engines shut down prematurely. The second stage was deployed successfully, and completed most of its burn, before being lost only around half a minute before scheduled (sub)orbit insertion, around 3km/h short of the required velocity.

A lot of misinformation around every time SpaceX does anything, just look at the news headlines.

People hate Elon (for very good reasons). But humans tend to believe that if a person is bad that literally everything they do must also be bad, hence the constant hate and misinformation every time SpaceX so much as sneezes.

It is sad to see the achievements made by their thousands of engineers and technicians being downplayed

Would you mind elaborating on exactly what reasons you are referring to? (I’m not intending to create an argument – I’m genuinely just curious as to what you are specifically referring to).

People dislike him for a lot of different reasons. One has been his disregard for workers’ rights and safety. Another is his twitter posts/retweets/memes that put down or spread misinfo about different disadvantaged groups or minorities. His political views are… what you’d expect for someone who posts that, which most people aren’t cool with. His influence over Starlink and terminals not working for the Ukrainian army in Crimea was a mess. When those kids were trapped in an underwater cave and some divers decided not to use his improvised mini-sub, he called one a pedo. He has had sexual harassment allegations. Etc etc.

Basically, he went from the quirky awkward rich guy making cars and rockets to a really annoying public figure with too much influence, some rough opinions, and no one telling him no.

(I’m a SpaceX fan and wish he would delete all social media, shut up, and focus. You know, like most CEOs of giant companies.)

Yeah this one is a pretty big issue, imo, that doesn’t get enough attention. No one country, never mind a single private entity, should have this much global influence. In my opinion, this is a situation that showcases the necesity for some form of regulating world government.

Would you mind citing what leads you to make that statement? I’m not intending to refute your point with my question, I would just like to know, for the sake of conversational accuracy, exactly what you are referring to.
