  • NASA went private because they wanted to save money. Falcon 9 have achieved so much more than any government ever has. Shows how little you know about spacex or even space in general.

How much of american GDP went towards Apollo? How much is going to SpaceX?

NASA saved a fortune on SpaceX. Elon must be a genius then if he managed all this with no formal education. What a legend.

Starship is overdue so is SLS. It’s rocket science. No one said it was easy.

Again SpaceX is trying to do something that no one else is even trying. This year is just data collection. Also they have been slowed by government, but they would still be behind anyway.

You just can’t face or you are just ignorant to what Spacex has actually achieved. Go look it up.

  • I don’t know why I had so much optimism for the project before this flight, even expecting potential multiple failure, then when flight 3 happened I felt less optimistic (emotionally) eventhough it was pretty successful. I dont know why. Reading over this seems to have raised my optimism.

Nothing seems unfixable. The booster needs a bit more control coming down which could be simple software. The ship needs a bit more control in space. Neither of those sound problematic (long term) at all. Also the door might not have worked but I’m sure a space company can fix a door.

Is anyone worried about the shape of starship on reentry being unstable? Reentry capsules self correct aerodynamically, but starship didn’t seem to correct itself and made me a bit worried.

  • I’m super excited for 3.

1 was cool. It got off the pad and pushed into the sky then the failures started happening, 1 engine, 2, 3 etc and still it pushed on. It was like some action movie where the vehicle slowly dies but they people just stick their heads down and keep going. Ultimately it was doomed though.

2 was cool because it looked perfect and was beautiful and they improved massively on the first. But that came across new challenges also.

Hope 3’s great. Least to shut up all circle jerker anti SpaceX crowd that don’t know what they are on about. But I’ll be happy if they don’t nail it till 5 or 6. After that I’ll be getting worried.

  • There are some top level issues are some smaller (but no less problematic) issues underneath.

They probably need to be spoken about.

    The big two are:

Issue 1) Why should I leave, or partially leave reddit?

Issue 2) Why should I go to lemmy?

The issues I have and have heard about.

    1. Isn’t it full of tankies and trannies?

    2. Do I join lemmy.com or what? There are a load of websites which do I join? How do I join?

    3. Is there a app for this?

    4. Isn’t it dead over there?

And remember a lot more people read comments than reply to them, or even vote on them. Just because no one asked about something doesn’t mean 10 people didn’t read you comment and think. “I’m not going there because of XYZ”

Women get told they need there own spaces for mental health, women’s issues, to have women’s chat.

Men aren’t allowed those things. They are told they never open up, they are toxic they shouldn’t be acting x,y,z and they should be more like girls.

What you are saying is when all thr fallout occurs then they get help. You are fixing a problem when their could be a solution before it becomes a problem.

The only places I have been close to that are “toxic” male places. All boys clubs, drinking clubs, rugby clubs.

But women see them as toxic and label then like that. But if you talk to them you get more toxic than from these clubs they aren’t a part of that tell you how horrible they are.
